Welcome to the Area 12 - Southwestern Webpage
Area 12 was founded in 1973 and provides programming for people in the counties of Bond, Clinton, Fayette, Madison, Monroe, Montgomery, St. Clair and Washington.
We currently serve over 1,080 athletes, have 56 active agencies and over 886 class A volunteers. Area 12 offers competition for athletes in 12 sports and hosted 10 competitions in 2009. There are many opportunities available for you to get involved with Special Olympics including serving as a volunteer or committee member, helping with fundraising, or competing as an athlete.
