Outstanding Awards

Do you know someone who has gone out of their way to help out or participate in the Special Olympics Illinois program and deserves recognition? Why not nominate them for an Outstanding Award?

Who is eligible to be nominated?

The Outstanding Awards are open to all individuals, organizations and businesses. Awards are given based on a nominee’s interest in and support of the abilities and accomplishments of SO ILL athletes. This is demonstrated through significant contribution at the Area and/or state level.

What is the nomination process?

1. Complete all sections of the Outstanding Awards Nomination Form (downloadable below). A list of Past Award Winners is also available.
2. Provide at least one supporting material
3. Mail or fax completed form and supporting material to the Special Olympics Illinois state office. (see form for details)
4. Nominations will be accepted for the 2010 awards from Sept. 1, 2009, through April 15, 2010. Nominations must be postmarked no later than April 15, 2010 to be considered.
6. The Outstanding Awards committee will review the nomination forms and select the winners to be presented at the 2010 Special Olympics Summer Games Opening Ceremonies reception.
