Headquarters

Special Olympics Illinois is headquartered in Normal, with regional offices in Glen Ellyn and Highland, and area offices throughout the state.

The statewide staff carries out the vision and policies of the Board of Directors, oversees all aspects of the statewide program, and provides guidance to the Area Directors. The statewide staff is responsible for the overall direction of the program, management of donations and statewide communications.

In order to effectively manage the program, Special Olympics Illinois has divided the state into geographic areas, each of which is managed by an Area Director. The Area Director is responsible for training, competition and fund-raising in that specific area. They are assisted by more than 25,000 volunteers, including event volunteers, committee members and area training directors.
