Dunkin’ Donuts Cop on Rooftop
For the 12th year in a row, Illinois police officers staked out Dunkin’ Donuts rooftops around the state to benefit Special Olympics Illinois. On Friday, May 30, hundreds of police officers covered more than 170 Dunkin’ Donuts rooftops to heighten awareness and raise money for the Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics Illinois.
Based on preliminary numbers, this year’s event is expected to raise more than $400,000! If you missed your chance to get some doughnuts while giving some dough, the Bloomington and Normal Dunkin’ Donuts locations will be holding their Cop on a Rooftop events on Tuesday, June 10, in advance of the Summer Games that weekend. In return for the police officers doing time at their stores, Dunkin’ Donuts will donate $15,000 to the Torch Run fund.
In addition, everyone who visits a Cop on a Rooftop store and makes a donation to the Torch Run will receive a free donut. Individuals who donate at least $10 will receive a Law Enforcement Torch Run travel mug (while supplies last) and a coupon for a free medium coffee. Other items, such as Torch Run T-shirts and hats, will be sold for various donation amounts, and other activities will vary by Dunkin’ Donuts location.
