What is Five-O at the Dirty O

Five-O at the Dirty O is a Law Enforcement Torch Run fundraising event benefiting Special Olympics Illinois. It is a stock car race in which law enforcement officers race stock vehicles decked out in their department’s patrol colors and decals! The event takes place at the Dirt Oval at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet.

Each officer must raise a minimum of $500 in donations to participate. The winning officer not only will receive ultimate bragging rights as the fastest cop in town but will be presented with the trophy.

Click here for a full list of rules.

Who can participate?

Drivers for this event must be active or retired law enforcement personnel and associated with a department.  Drivers are responsible for building their own car and raising a minimum of $500 in donations.  Retired police vehicles with emergency lights are preferred, but not mandatory.

Pit Crew is open to the general public, but must be associated with a registered driver. The Pit Crew role is to assist the driver in their fundraising efforts leading up to the event.  The more funds raised by a driver’s team the farther up in the starting lineup they will begin.
