Family Ambassadors are part of the Family Action Network (FANs) and are modeled after the Athlete Leadership Program. Family Ambassadors complete a family leadership training session and make a commitment to help promote, educate and inform others throughout the state.
As Messengers, they provide outreach through speeches and presentations to other families, schools, civic groups, Law Enforcement Torch Run and others who are interested in hearing about the impact that Special Olympics has had on their lives. As Mentors, they share their experiences with new families as they discover all the Special Olympics movement has to offer. They also introduce new families to Special Olympics opportunities in their communities and help provide a more positive experience for all families. And as Community Builders, they reach out to help ensure the financial stability and infrastructure of Special Olympics Illinois within their communities.
By filling out the following form, you are expressing interest in joining this fantastic group of dedicated Special Olympics family members. Family Messengers and Mentors must be at least 14 years of age.
