Welcome to Special Olympics Illinois! The General Orientation presentation covers the history, structure, mission and unique policies of Special Olympics. Upon completion, we invite you to navigate throughout our website for more specific information on all of our initiatives including but not limited to: sports, health, education, community, and athlete leadership.
General Orientation is designed to serve as an introduction to Special Olympics. It is a required training and prerequisite for coaches attending a sport specific training school for certification. To start your General Orientation session please watch the video and answer the 10 questions below. Please complete the general information section at the bottom of the page so completion of the General Orientation Training can be synced with your volunteer record. Coaches seeking sport certification need to complete the General Orientation Training only one time during their career with SOILL.
