What is LETR Days Sponsored by Schnucks?

The Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run is excited to team up with Schnucks Grocery chain to raise funds and awareness for the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois. During this event, law enforcement officers and volunteers will staff merchandise tables near the main entrance of their local Schnucks store.  Volunteers will sell LETR merchandise, raffle tickets and collect general donations all to benefit the Special Olympics Illinois community that serves more than 55,000 traditional athletes, Young Athletes, Unified partners, coaches, volunteers, and more.

Event Dates/Times:

LETR officers and volunteers will be staking out their local Schnucks Grocery Stores the weekends of August 25, 26 and 27 or September 1, 2 and 3 as part of the 5^th Annual LETR Days. 

• Friday: 4 PM – 8 PM
• Saturday: 10 AM – 6 PM
• Sunday: 10 AM – 6 PM

All Coordinating Officers must submit their Store Coverage to Kia Christensen by Friday, August 4. SOILL must provide a full schedule of coverage to Schnucks for each location. On days/times departments do not have coverage, the store may open up that slot for other non-profits to do collection.

Departments are encouraged have coverage for the entirety of the weekend, but if there are coverage gaps, please communicate this with your LETR Liaison, Kia Christensen.
