COVID Procedures

Unless a venue has specific COVID protocols in place, Special Olympics Illinois is following Illinois Department of Public Health and CDC COVID protocols and guidelines.  Please refer to event specific information or website page (if applicable) to determine if the venue has any specific COVID protocols. 

Special Olympics Illinois is committed to providing the best athlete, volunteer, coach and supporter environment possible.  While we are excited to resume in-person events, the health and well-being of our constituents remains our top priority.  All of our in person events follow the COVID-19 recommended IDPH and CDC guidelines.

Competition Information

Golf Individual Skills is a Qualifier for State Golf Tournament. Gold Medal Recipients will advance to State Golf.

Facility Information

Skills will take place on the putting greens, chipping is located at the driving range. Bathrooms available. No carts will be available for spectators or guests.

Event Details

Registration will be at 9:00 AM
Opening Ceremony will be at 9:45 AM
Events Begin at 10:00 AM

This year, Starved Rock Cross Fit will be leading a voluntary stretching warm-up session at 9:30 AM for all athletes.  Location will be shared during registration.

Volunteer Information

Equipment

Athletes should follow the rule interpretations regarding uniforms. All necessary equipment such as Golf Clubs are the responsibility of the athlete or agency. Golf Balls will be provided for the skills.

Awards

Awards will be given after divisions complete the 7 skills.

Concessions

Lunch will be provided for all registered athletes, coaches and volunteers and will consist of a Hot Dog, Chips and Water. Concession stand is available for purchase. Water will be placed throughout the venue for athletes as needed.

2023 Region A Golf Skills Results

All Gold Medal winners advance to the State Golf Tournament in Decatur, IL on September 9-10.  Region A Entries are due to me by August 8th.  Region E – please check with your sports staff for entry deadlines.  Your entry score will be what the athlete scored at this recent competition.
