
Region C Fall Tennis Event
Tennis Skills and Tennis Match Play offered.
Individual Skills: All athletes will be given the opportunity to complete all 7 skills consecutively while working 1:1 with a tennis pro. Both pro and athlete will be required to wear a PPE during the skills competition. Athletes will be scored, but not divisioned.
Match Play: Traditional Match Play: will consist of 2 full (6 game) sets using no-ad scoring with a 10 point Tie-break to determine the winner of the match. We try to follow the schedule as closely as possible- but please be prepared to play earlier than scheduled.
This event is non-qualifying. Final Divisions will be created after the competition based on event (Skills and Match play). We will send out award certificates to coaches based on final record after the competition. We will not be having an awards ceremony.
Team Check in – 4:00pm
Skill Stations / Matches begin – 4:30pm
Maplebrook will be providing 2 outdoor courts. The club will be closed to the public. Bathrooms available in the club house.
Athletes should plan to bring their own rackets. Balls will be provided.
Things to bring: PPES, Water bottles, blankets, umbrellas, lawn chairs, canopy tents as we will be outside all day.
PPE’s must be worn: at tournament central, team staging areas, entering the club house to use the restrooms, in the restrooms, during the skills competition and at any time when social distance is not an option. Special Olympics will not be providing PPE’s- athletes must bring their own.
No food will be provided. Please encourage teams to eat before they arrive. Athletes will be responsible for providing own water bottles.
Results
To make sure we abide by the 50 person maximum set by the IDPH, parents and spectators are unfortunately not allowed to attend and only registered athletes and coaches are allowed at the event.

While we are excited to resume in-person events, the health and well-being of our constituents remains our top priority. All of our in-person events follow the COVID-19 recommended IDPH and CDC guidelines.
