What Is Basketball?

One of the most popular sports in Illinois, basketball provides competition for both teams and individuals, as well as individual skills events, like this one. Individuals can compete in the skills competition to develop basic basketball skills. Events include the target pass, 10-meter dribble, and spot shot events.

Athletes in Illinois who participate in team competition and individual skills compete locally at a region-qualifying event. Teams or individuals who win a gold medal are eligible to advance to the State Basketball Tournament, which is held in Normal in March.

• Five-on-five team competition – junior, high school and senior age groups

Competition Information

Individual basketball skills competition. Gold medals advance to the State Basketball Tournament.

Facility Information

ICC will be providing their main basketball court for this event. Bathrooms are available. Parking is available in their main lot.

Event Details

Registration starts at 8:00 AM, followed by Opening Ceremony at 9:00 AM. Games begin immediately after Opening Ceremony.

Equipment

Athletes should bring their own water bottles and PPE.

Awards

Awards will be given once a division is complete.

Concessions

Snacks will be provided to registered athletes and coaches.
