What is MedFest?

MedFest is an opportunity for persons with intellectual disabilities to receive the sports physical required for participation in Special Olympics Illinois at no cost.

Event Information

The MedFest for Region I is an opportunity for Special Olympics Illinois athletes and potential athletes to receive a free medical exam to complete the Special Olympics Illinois medical form required for all athletes. Athletes and teams will sign up to participate by contacting Vanessa Duncan, vduncan@soill.org or 217-273-4485. Vanessa will meet with athlete supports to ensure paperwork is accurately completed prior to scheduling an appointment time within the 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM for the event.

The athlete consent form and pages one and two of the medical form must be completed prior to the examination by physician/PA/APN.

The MedFest will take place in the Cardiac Care Center at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center’s campus, located at 1000 Health Center Drive. Signage will be visible to direct participants to the location.
