Region J Taste of Something Special

Join us Thursday, November 12th for our first Annual “Taste of Something Special” presented by SHC Foundation.

Let us cook for you! Special Olympics Illinois is partnering with Covered in Chocolate to bring a great meal to you all while raising funds for Special Olympics Illinois! Join us online as we host a silent auction, and hear from some of our favorite athletes about their experiences and joys through our programing. This will be a great evening and a great way to raise funds for the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois.

Ticket Costs

Tickets can be purchased for $50 (includes 2 adult dinners) and $10 for kids. Tickets include complimentary Special Olympics glass, a Special Olympics branded insulated grocery bag, and outstanding food.

The fun starts at 6:00pm with wine and beer tasting, great foods, and silent auction viewing.

The online auction and raffle ticket auction will close at 8:30pm with check-out of all auction items, wines, and specialty beers beginning at that time.  The event ends at 9:00pm, and all proceeds will go to benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois Region J.

What’s on the Menu

Menu will consist of the freshest ingredients.

• Stuffed chicken breast
• Garlic mashed potatoes
• Grilled fresh vegetables
• Fresh from New England Clam Chowder
• Cupcakes for desert
• Bottled ski to wash it down.

Kids menu consists of:

• Hot ham and cheese sandwich
• Fresh fruit
• Juice box
• Cake pop

All participants should self-screen prior to arriving at this event and should remain home if feeling unwell or displaying symptoms.

Masks are required to be worn at all times during this event, except when eating / drinking and a 6′ distance is available between tables.  Participants will provide their own masks and any other Personal Protective Equipment they feel they need.

SOILL will have hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes/spray and other cleaning/sanitizing products on-site but will not provide masks to participants.

Special Olympics Illinois is committed to providing the best athlete, volunteer, coach and supporter environment possible. While we are excited to resume in-person events, the health and well-being of our constituents remains our top priority. All of our in-person events follow the COVID-19 recommended IDPH and CDC guidelines.
