Region K Basketball Skills – Carmi White County High School

What Is Basketball skills?

One of the most popular sports in Illinois, basketball provides competition for both teams and individuals. Individuals can compete in the basketball individual skills competition to develop basic basketball skills. Events include the target pass, 10-meter dribble and spot shot events.

Individual skills participants compete locally in region qualifying events. Individuals who win a gold medal are eligible to advance to the State Basketball Tournament held in Normal in March.

Competition Information

Individual skills competition – Target pass, 10-meter dribble, spot shot
Athletes will be able to compete in all three skills competition. Divisions will be no more than eight athletes.

Facility Information

Parking is in the gravel lot by Dairy Queen.
The small service stairways should not be used by athletes or volunteers.

Event Details

Volunteer registration – 8:00 AM
Agency registration – 9:00 AM
Opening Ceremony – 9:45 AM with competition to follow
Lunch service – 11:30 AM
End of competition – 2:00 PM

Please refer to Special Olympics Illinois policies and procedures to confirm your athlete is wearing the approved clothing and/or uniform. Spectators are allowed to bring additional seating. Athletes and coaches must bring their own water bottles.


Awards will be given as each division finishes all three skills areas.


Lunch will be provided.
