State Bowling Tournament

What is The State Bowling Tournament?

The State Bowling Tournament is one of 13 state sports competitions. It is the championship-level competition for those participating in bowling. The State Bowling Tournament is a one-day event usually held the first Saturday in December in Peoria. The event typically includes approximately 250 athletes, 130 coaches and 175 volunteers. Bowling became an official Special Olympics Illinois sport in 1975, and Landmark Lanes has hosted the tournament since 1989.

State Bowling hosted a Unified Exhibition in 2022 and is working toward this becoming an official sport in 2024.

The State Bowling Tournament is a stand alone competition and serves as a showcase for our bowling athletes to demonstrate the skills they have learned throughout the year. Additional activities include families registration and souvenir sales.

Spectators are encouraged to attend this premiere state tournament to cheer on these extraordinary athletes.
