Unified Fortnite Tournament

Welcome to the second Special Olympics Illinois Winter eSports League! Beginning February 1, be apart of a month-long eSports tournament featuring three different eSports games! Pick one or pick them all and put your gaming skills to the test as Illinois athletes & Unified Partners play with and against one another every week!

Fortnite Battle Royale is a free-to-play battle royale online video game developed and published by Epic Games. 100 players skydive onto an island and scavenge for gear to defend themselves from other players. Players can fight alone (Solo), with one additional player (Duos), or with a group of up to three others (Squads). As the match progresses, the playable area within the island gradually constricts, giving the players less and less room to work with. The last player or team alive wins the match.

Battle Royale Participants will compete in five Battle Royale (duo) matches. Participants will receive points based on three separate indicators for scoring: Eliminations, Assists, and Final Placing. (3 pts. per Elimination, 1 pt. Per Assist, Top 50 finish – 1 pt., Top 25 Finish – 2 pt., Top 10 Finish – 3 pts., Winner – 5 pts.) At the conclusion of the fifth match, a champion will be crowned to the team with the most points.

Participating athletes can compete in as many opportunities as they please! Each week of competition the Finals will be played on Friday. For Fortnite & Rocket League, daily practice tournaments will be hosted online & available to watch on the Special Olympics Illinois Twitch (www.twitch.tv/SpecialOlympicsIllinois)

Participation is free of charge. Participating athletes must own the games or have access to the games in order to participate. Copies of these games will not be provided by Special Olympics Illinois.
