Six Flags Great America and Special Olympics Illinois have teamed up for the Coaster Challenge on Saturday, September 15!

Simply register for $25, fundraise, and ride the distance of a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon or Marathon (26.2 Miles) on Six Flags Great America’s world-class roller coasters.

For those of you that have the DEMON in you, go for the Marathon!  Fundraise a minimum of $1,000 and ride a full 26.2 miles!  Have your scorecard stamped as you exit each ride, and we will tally your total distance when you check in at the scoring table upon completion.

All Coaster Challenge participants will also receive early entry to the park to kick-start their race! Challengers can ride Whizzer from 9-11:00am and Raging Bull from 9:30 – 11:00 am to get extra laps in before the park opens.

DAY OF EVENT INFORMATION

The parking gates will open at 8am on Saturday, September 15th and registration will be open at that time.  The registration area outside the park gates will be open until noon on the day of the event. Make sure to arrive prior to noon to receive your park benefits.

Gates to the park will open at 8:30 and we will have everyone meet in front of the Whizzer for an 8:50 Opening Ceremonies prior to the first ride at 9:00am.

The Whizzer will be open for continuous riding from 9:00 – 11:00 and the Raging Bull will open at 9:15 am to allow people to walk over after the Opening Ceremonies.  Priority for continuous riding will be Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k and then 5k.

Every person entering the park, including spectators, will need to have a ticket to enter.  Only those who have registered and fundraised the minimum amount will be able to ride coasters from 9-11am.  If you would like to purchase a ticket for a spectator, visit the Six Flags Great America website and type Coaster in the promo code box on the top right corner of the website.

For those who met their minimum fundraising requirement ($150), you will be mailed your parking pass and t-shirt.  IF you have only met the $25 threshold and have the remainder of your donations offline, your parking pass has been sent in the mail and you will receive your shirt upon arrival when you turn in your offline donations,
