2017 Event Recap
This year’s event was a huge success. 15 Drivers from 13 different law enforcement agencies raced for the Fastest Cop in Town title. Jerry Lehmacher from Lemont Police was the winner of the race. Oak Forest PD was our top fundraising department raising $20,100 for the athletes. In total the event raised more than $75,000 for the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois.
A big thank you to the Dirt Oval racetrack for partnering with Special Olympics Illinois and Torch Run for this inaugural event.
What is Five-O at the Dirty O
Five-O at the Dirty O is a Law Enforcement Torch Run fundraising event benefiting Special Olympics Illinois. It is a stock car race in which law enforcement officers race stock vehicles decked out in their department’s patrol colors and decals! The event takes place at the Dirt Oval at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet.
Each officer must raise a minimum of $500 in donations to participate. The winning officer not only will receive ultimate bragging rights as the fastest cop in town but will be presented with the trophy. Officer’s interested need to register by clicking the event below.
