Staff Updates – November 2014
The following have joined Special Olympics Illinois or received new assignments within the organization:
Special Olympics Illinois has named Jennifer Davis the new SOILL Western/Area 4 Manager. Davis will be responsible for assisting Area Director Cathy Betar in managing Special Olympics activities including training, competition, fundraising and administration for the Area.
Davis was previously the Executive Director of Moonshine Bear Entertainment in Rock Island. There she was responsible for being a booking/ publicity agent for four regional bands, updating and monitoring all websites and social media used for band promotions. She also has previously worked for several newspapers and magazines in Central Illinois.
Davis graduated from Warren High School and attended Carl Sandburg College and Monmouth College.
She works out of the SOILL Western/Area 4 office in Rock Island.
Special Olympics Illinois has named Christopher Freimann to be the SOILL Southwestern/Area 12 Director.
Freimann, a Highland native, will be responsible for managing Special Olympics activities including training, competition, fundraising and administration for the Area.
Previously, he interned at REX Distributing where he was the Sales/Promotion events intern. Freimann also served in the United States Air Force, where he held leadership positions for more than 11 years. During his time in the service, he volunteered for Special Olympics Mississippi, helping with Summer Games. He was responsible for directly managing 16 Games Committees, and for the daily operations of the event.
He received his bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Marketing at Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa, in 2014. He was a 2002 graduate of Highland High School, Highland.
Freimann works out of the SOILL Southern Regional Office in Highland.
