What is the Young Professionals Board?

Special Olympics Illinois’ Young Professionals Board (YPB) is an active group of young professionals from all sectors of the business community who work together to advance the mission of Special Olympics Illinois (SOILL). As members of the YPB, these young professionals offer their multi-faceted skill sets, life experience, diverse perspectives, and the passion to make a difference for all individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Who Should Join?

Any person between the ages of 22 & 39 who is interested in getting involved with SOILL, having a great time, and expanding their network!

Annual Membership Requirements

  • Attend at least two SYPB Board Meetings
  • Attend at least one SYPB fundraising event
  • Raise a minimum of $150
    • Fundraising commitment can be reached in several ways including:
      • Purchasing tickets to SYPB events
      • Having friends/family purchase tickets to SYPB events
      • Soliciting in-kind donations (beer or food for events, venues, prizes, etc.)
      • Securing corporate event sponsorships
      • Making personal contributions
      • Many more!
