UNIFIED PROGRAMMING

WE’RE ALL ON THE SAME TEAM.
Special Olympics Illinois offers a wide variety of inclusive programming through our Unified Sports® and Unified Champion Schools programs. From the field to the classroom, we’re laying the groundwork to make Illinois a kinder, more accepting place for all.

UNIFIED CHAMPION SCHOOLS

The Unified Champion Schools program (UCS) empowers K-12 schools and colleges in Illinois to foster inclusive learning and social environments where all students, regardless of ability, can thrive together.

It’s structured around three key components, each a required element of participation.

INCLUSIVE SPORTS

Promotes teamwork and breaks down social barriers through integrated Unified Sports® activities and competitions.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP & ADVOCACY

Equips young people of all abilities to drive change and promote acceptance, respect and human dignity within their school communities.

WHOLE SCHOOL ENGAGEMENT

Brings entire schools together to engage in activities like Respect Week, Cool School Polar Plunge events, and more.
